As a not-for-profit organization, HSP’s reason for being is service pursuant to our mission, and that service is administered through five different programs addressing different aspects of the mission, to alleviate the suffering inflicted by poverty. Two serve children alone (Children’s Birthday Project and the School Supply Drive); one serves seniors alone (Senior Citizen Project); one serves children and through them, families (Feed the Kids); and the last serves them all (Christmas Offering).

Senior Citizen Project
Delivering 100 pounds of fresh, wholesome and nutritious food every month along with wish list items and Secret Pal gifts to DuPage and Kane Counties’ needy elderly. Read more…

Children’s Birthday Project
Creating wonderful memories for the impoverished children of DuPage and Kane Counties by providing them with an unforgettable 20-25 pound birthday package. Read more…

Feed the Kids
When school is out for the summer, Feed the Kids provides poverty-level families with 175 pounds of food each month, ensuring good nutrition for children who receive free or reduced-cost meals during the school year. Read more…

Empowering the youngest local poor throughout DuPage County with the tools needed to survive and thrive in the classroom. Read more…

Christmas Offering
Providing, at least, 3 weeks worth of nutritious food and brightly wrapped Christmas gifts to local low-income families during the holidays. Read more…
