MISSION STATEMENT:

It is the mission of the Humanitarian Service Project to alleviate the pain and suffering that poverty brings to needy seniors and children living in DuPage and Kane Counties, Illinois, without distinction of gender, race, creed, caste, or color.

 

In April HSP distributed over 6 tons of nutritious groceries to 121 needy senior citizens!

Additionally, 58 needy children celebrated their birthdays with 1,276 lbs of new toys!

Thanks to everyone who helped make all of this possible!

 

UPCOMING EVENTS:

Senior Delivery Day (every month)

DDay Volunteer to help us deliver groceries and gifts to 121 seniors one Saturday each month. Next Delivery Day is: June 15th, 2013. To view all the distribution day dates for 2013, click here.

Large Food Sorting Event

DDay Starting on Saturday, May 11th, 2013 and continuing into summer, we are looking for volunteers to help us sort non-perishables.

Monthly Meals (every month)

Donate and deliver a meal to seniors once a month or around holidays.

School Supply Collection (ongoing)

Empowering the youngest, local poor with the tools needed to survive and thrive in the classroom.

SPOTLIGHT:

HSP’s Problem
As any one who volunteered during Christmas 2012 can tell you, the one thing that HSP really needs is more space.

HSP’s Solution
Launch a Capital Campaign to expand our warehouse. We want to add at least 5,000 square feet to our facility in order to accommodate all of our programs more efficiently.

HSP’s Plan
Develop drawings & plans; Determine funds needed; Announce scope of Campaign; Kick Off Event for Campaign; Complete before Christmas 2013.
