Alex Gordy - Database Administrator
In August of 2010, Alex embarked on a new journey when he was invited to the offices of the Humanitarian Service Project.

Alex:
I get asked often, what do you do at your job?
The best way I can describe it is, imagine you are Santa, and being Santa, you need to, for example, look up all the children in the suburbs of Chicago. So, you, Mr/Mrs. Santa, access a system which lists everything you are looking for, children’s birthdays, their yearly wishes, their dreams… and all this information must be up-to-date and correct. Now someone had to have designed this system, and that someone has to maintain it up-to-date, keeping it accessible & quick, while implementing new solutions as the list of children grows bigger to help make your life as Santa a little easier. That person would be me.

Having graduated from Aurora University in ’08 with a Computer Science degree, Alex became a member of the HSP staff.
