SENIORS
THANK YOU!
2008:
"Dearest Humanitarian and
Secret Pal,
Your thoughtfulness meant so
much. There aren’t enough words to truly explain all I have within
my heart for all of you. I’ve encountered many illnesses since last
Christmas and am healing now from a quadruple heart by pass. If not for
your warm and wonderful generosity, I don’t know I would be healing at
all, as I have no one close enough to have stayed to help me.
I live alone with the love o
my life—my cat baby who is more spoiled than a child. His name is “Baby”
and he is about 10 and reacts to everything like a human being. My
children are distant and into their own lives so I’ve been getting by with
your wonderful donations and secret pal gifts. It shows I am not alone.
The healing process is long
and difficult and it is wonderful to know you are there for me. Like the
new glasses your gift of life just sponsored me. What words could ever be
adequate. My home nurse and caregiver have been helping me though all of
this. Think how wonderful it is to feel so alone and be surprised with
wonderful soaps, lotions, beauty care articles, and all the things you’ve
supplied would have to come out of my small check. I get $10 in food
stamps and it doesn’t supply the fruits &etc. I require for my heart and
diabetic diet requires.
I love all of you for all of
it. You are a loving, caring, and giving organization and God blessed me
when he gave you to me. Thank all of you for your help and thoughtfulness!
I shall always hold you close to heart. Don’t know how I would afford
household and personal items without you and I’m anxious as a kid with
your wonderful fruits, means, vegetables, toiletries, laundry products,
and await each delivery with excitement and gratitude. God bless you, one
and all for your generosity; plus the excitement of special gifts from my
secret pal. Please relay my thankfulness. Thank you,
Sincerely,
Marlene D.
2007:
"I can’t thank you enough for all the wonderful things you send me.
Before Humanitarian Service, I hadn’t been able to go purchase anything
for myself since my husband died in 2000. Just not enough money. If
I had a few pennies left Melissa (my granddaughter) needed something. Now
with all the beautiful things you send I have a nice wardrobe. Thank you
so very much. I know I sometimes forget to tell you how much I appreciate
it but I’m not much of a letter writer. My hand cramps a lot and it hurts
to write. But I do want you to know how much I love all the things you
send and its been a godsend to have you in my love." - Love, Mae V
"Thank you so much for the generous gift of groceries you delivered
Saturday. It was totally overwhelming and really meant a lot to me. I
shared some of it with a friend who had been living on oatmeal for 3 days.
I’m still overwhelmed at how much food I have in my cabinets, refrigerator
and freezer. Thanks again for all your help." Sincerely, Beth S.
"Just a few lines to let you know how much I appreciate the help you
have given me. I got my glasses (from Lenscrafters' Gift of Sight Program)
today. I will never be able to thank you and my secret pal enough. You are
a very good friend. You are there when I need you most. Thank you so very
much.
Your friend always, Beverly C"
"Dear Humanitarian Project, I want to thank you all (belatedly) for all
the gifts, food, and everything you have provided me with the past few
years. Mostly, I want to thank those people who carried those heavy, heavy
boxes to our apartments. Any point from parking to any of our apartments
is a long, long hike. I really don’t know how you all have managed! It has
been great to have the food supplies to fall back on especially in our
recent cold weather! I also want to thank my delivery drivers and
their extras. Everything has been used and much appreciated. Thanks again.
Fondly, PeggyE.
PS- Also the Christmas watch has been used often already."
"Just a note to thank you! Your generosity was so overwhelming I was
speechless the morning of delivery. Everything, everything was just
wonderful! Bless you, Wanda"
2006:
"Dear Friends, I cannot let this opportunity go by without telling you
what a difference you make in people’s lives like mine. I appreciate your
kindness and generosity. Love you, Sara R."
"Dear Friends, Thank you so much just for being there. Like so many
times I used to not know where I was going to get my next meal. Thank you
for the food and everything else. Like I always say you are my angels.
Because of you when Christmas comes I get things that I so badly need. I
was not used to presents until you came along. Thanks my angel." Beverly

do appreciate them. It is fun to go thru the bags and boxes and discover
all the good things." Jessie
"Thank you all so much for giving me Christmas
every month!" Grace
"I’d like to share with each of you my
heartfelt appreciation for the loving support you’ve shown me. These
last several months could have really been a dismal time for me without
the warmth of your friendship and confidence. I hope that the coming
year finds even greater support for your loving work."
Pam
"Just to let you know what a fantastic job
you are accomplishing for other human beings. Indirectly, you have saved
three suicidal men in my building that I have been able to serve hot
meals to. We eat together and have many positive telephone conversations
(since I have no automobile.) Bless you, bless you" Cathe
1995:
"It is such a blessing to have such
wonderful friends and I feel so grateful for the food each month. I just
finished a tangerine you sent me and it was so sweet and good. I love
the pears you sent, too. You are all such special people at the Senior
Project. You are all such beautiful people. The people are so gracious
and cheerful I love you all. P.S. I love the letters from the
youngsters. I read every single one." Doris
"You all have been wonderful and good to
me. I have appreciated all you have done for me. Thank you to all my
friends. Keep up the good work. Someday I will be out there helping you
all too. I will be 89 years old this month. Keep well and strong." Rosemary

overjoyed." Annie

you nice people for all you have been doing for me. I do not know how to
thank you nice people." Rose

letter to thank you. Your generosity has touched her greatly. My mother
is not physically capable of doing many things that she used to. Thank
you for your kindness and your thoughtfulness." Helen’s daughter
"I want to thank you and all who helped
for the wonderful variety of food that I received this month. I was
overwhelmed! When I hear people talking about the problems and
selfishness in our country, I think of all the caring, generous people
that are a part of this Senior Citizen Project. My heart is so full, and
I just hope that some day I can do as much for others that find it hard
to manage. " Grace
"Thanks to all my friends. I know there
are a lot of you who work behind the lines and God bless you all.
Without your help this type of program would not be possible. You give
so generously of your time and talents." Roberta
1998:
" Just wanted thank you for Robert for
such a nice "goodie" box. He was in need of everything placed
in the box. You people have sure helped him a lot. It’s nice to know
in our world, that there are such people as yourselves. Please give [our
delivery driver] a special hug. She makes our world a little
better." Robert’s brother, for Robert.
"Thanks a million I am very fortunate and
thankful to have friends like you." Annie
"Hi to all the Gang: all of the groceries
I receive each month are greatly appreciated. You don’t know what this
means to me. And thanks to each and everyone of you for the neat gifts.
All of you bring a lot of joy into my life. The people that deliver
things to me are wonderful, so thanks to them too." Lorraine
"I get food once a month from all of you. Thank
you! As for food it is very wonderful." Eve
"It’s unbelievable! It’s really a
miracle! To have a prayer and a wish fulfilled that our rental deficit
to the tune of $1,000 has been paid thru your "humanitarian"
team’s efforts. There’s always an angel ready to rescue anybody in
distress for a very worthwhile cause. Thanks to you and your team, as
well as to our unknown benefactor. Please extend to him/her our family’s
heartfelt gratitude, for a few indeed would know what you have done but
Somebody up there would say "whatever you have done to the least of
your brethren you have done it to Me." Thanks for the foods,
etc..too." Ismael and Ninfa
"To all of you. From you to us is always
Thanksgiving. You come to our home with many things and you are with us,
when we need you with your warm hearts and the smile on your face. You
make the impossible, possible." Pat and Jimmy

"I am writing to thank you for all the
lovely, generous, caring people on your staff and everyone connected
with your organization. Every has been so kind, loving and caring. I can’t
say enough about your organization. Without you I could not have made it
this far. With people like you the world is a better place."
Roberta
"I can never thank you all for everything
you have been doing for me. I Pray all the time for all you do for senior
citizens. And to have everything delivered to my door. God bless the
wonderful man who delivers my food right to the door. Sincerely yours,
Rose."
"Just a little note to say thank you for
all the wonderful food that’s sent to me every month. You must know
how much it helps, (when your living on a limited income, every little
helps). I want to thank all of you again, and God bless and take care of
all of you. I hope you don’t mind me writing to you, but you fill my
heart with joy." Florence

are appreciated." Marge

2000:
"I want to tell you thanks a lot for all
the food. It helps me a lot. I’m not to good. I can’t get out of bed
no more. You have been a God send to me. I’m not too good in walking.
I’ll be 90 yrs old. It is just a matter of time. Everything is fine:
food fruit and all the rest. Thank you all. Thank you. " Thelma
"Thank all of you for your work, but more
for your thoughtfulness. You made me so happy. Each month I am
surprised! It also makes me happy to know there are people with such
goodness in today’s world. You’re all in my prayers. Thanks
again." Betty
2001:
"I am possitively grateful to you people,
one and all, for all the help you’ve been to me. My health is bad at
times. I keep going. ‘Don’t see kids to often, try to manage myself.
It’s just a god sent for people like you to help out when we get
older. ‘Taking so many pills. Can’t get out too much. ‘Do walk
around complex sometimes for exercise. I’ve been pretty sick. Bad, bad
3 weeks. God bless all of you." June
"I sure do appreciate my birthday card.
None of my children even sent one or called. I thank you for all your
help." June
"We thank you very much all of you. You
give us the mind relaxation with all the foods and the fresh fruits and
vegetables. We love you." Pat and Jimmy
1997:
"Thank you for all the goodies. I sure was
overwhelmed at all the things I received. Thanks just don’t seem to be
enough. Wish I could do more. I am looking out the window and it is
still snowing. Glad I don’t have to go out. Bless you! Hope all good
things can come your way" love, Jessie
"You gave me a wonderful Christmas. Without your
generosity and loving kindness it would have been bleak. The silverware
caused much excitement. I simply couldn’t believe the package was for
me. I used all pieces and enjoyed every mouthful. I spent the vouchers
on medicine and a much desired mattress pad. Now I leap out of bed in
the morning like an eighteen year old instead of an aching Methuselah!
So very grateful to you for making this possible for me. I think of you
as my family. " Cathe
"You make my holidays the best ever." Larraine
"I hope you can read my shaky handwriting. I
just wanted to say thank you to each and every one of you for the
wonderful gifts and kind wishes sent. Your continued thoughtfulness and
generosity mean more to me than you will ever know!! You folks are
something else!!" Helen
1999:
"Thank you for everything you have given me. For the food, misc. items
for all those who have deliver and drop off stuff for the cards, money,
gift certificates, and everything you have done for me. I really truly
appreciate your love and kindness. PS Thank all the young people who
made cards for me and sent them to me. I really love each and every one.
They are just beautiful." Minnie
"Thank you so much for the food and the
hand knitted throw. It keeps my arthritic body nice and warm. I thank
you from the bottom of my heart for remembering me during this season of
the year." Evelyn
2000:
"To everybody at the Humanitarian. I’m
writing to say thanks very much. I had a wonderful Cmas this year. The
best I had in my 85 years! Thanks, thanks for everything" Elizabeth
"We thank you for your gifts and love. It
made our holiday extra great. It’s a special treat to have so many
folks think of us because we pretty much are house bound at this
time." Stewert and Grace
"Thank you for all the wonderful gifts you
sent us. If you could only see our faces every time we opened something.
We had tears in our eyes and said, "These people really care for
us" Thank you so much." Martha and Nancy
"Thank you for the best Christmas ever! You
really did it! I was so overwhelmed with so many beautiful gifts and so
much food--Box after box with sweaters, booties, lamps, and boots – I
don’t know how someone picked out a pair that fit and I like! I’m
working on the 2000 piece puzzles. I might get it done by summer. Oh
yes, chocolates....mmmm!!! You are the best people! You will be rewarded
abundantly. Thank you again." Betty
"Being on such a tight budget after rent
and bills, I find I don’t have enough cash for other needs. My
medicine is quite expensive. I use every product I get. Thank you for my
white walking shoes. God bless you all, I love you and all your
helpers." Margaret
"I am so grateful and thankful for all you
have done for me and given me this year. The blessings of the Lord be
upon you all." Mrs Minnie C.
