We are excited that
after 27 years of having to borrow space for our Christmas projects
and rent storage year-round for food and toy donations, we are now
in our very own, 15,000-sq.-ft. building in Carol Stream! From thank-you letters and telephone calls
we receive, we know that we make a difference in the lives of those
who struggle daily with the burden of poverty. We feel confident
that our new building will serve us in becoming more efficient and
able to reach out to the many who are sadly living through this
very painful predicament.
We were able to purchase this building with the DuPage
County Community Development Block Grant for $421,000, the sale of
our previous property in West Chicago, and money donated to our building
fund.
We are still seeking donations for improvements to our building and
possible future expansion. For $500, you can have your name and a
message engraved on a brick on our Service Sidewalk!
